Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (VKI)

Organisation profile

The von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (VKI) is a non-profit international research and educationestablishment, specialized in fluid dynamics related to aerospace, aeronautics, turbomachinery, propulsion, aeroacoustics, industrial and environmental flows. VKI has a long-standing experience in the development of CFD and laser-diagnostics tools, like PIV and LDV for all its specializations, including multiphase flows. The latter will be used in WP44 of the project.

Role in the project

VKI will participate in WP44 Development of mixed phase and glaciated icing conditions detectors where they will contribute to identify and implement mock-up components for laboratory tests with the previously defined optical setup. Tests will also be conducted to validate the concept under representative conditions.
