SP1 Instrumentation – 1st year progress

The progress performed in SP1 within the first year of the project is presented below:

The requirements for Flight Test (F/T) and Ice Wind Tunnel Test (IW/T) instrumentation were defined in terms of liquid droplet, ice crystal and mass of water measurements as well as technical instrument properties

  • The set cloud microphysical probes for the HAIC flight and ground tests were improved

  • Instrumentation for the first HAIC F/T with the Falcon 20 in Darwin was selected

  • The IWT test campaign to assess the performance of the new high-resolution imaging probe (HSI) developed by Artium Technologies Inc. in collaboration with CIRA was prepared in terms of definition of measurement requirements and development of a test plan

In a nutshell, SP1 activities have been performed according to the plan and are mainly on schedule.

In what follows the significant results of each WP of SP1 are presented.

WP11 : SP1 Coordination

WP12 : Instrumentation and Specification

WP13 : Selection of instrumentation for flight tests campaigns

WP14 : Selection of instrumentation for icing wind tunnel calibration

WP15 : Selection of instrumentation for icing wind tunnel calibration
